ELAINE SORTINO SOFTBALL SCHOOL
Join us as we celebrate our 28th year of excellence with the 2023 Elaine Sortino Softball Schools. Together, Coach and Denise built something powerful and inspiring. Denise is committed to continuing to provide this experience and to keeping Coach present on the field by sharing stories of her essence and greatness to the next generation of players. This School will be instructed by coaches who have been directly influenced by Coach. It is the best and most anticipated week of our year! The Softball Schools are a well-oiled machine that utilizes each moment to become what was most important to Coach…Be 1% Better Every Day!
Elaine Sortino made winning a habit at UMASS. In her 34 years at the helm of the Minutewoman Softball Team, Sortino established herself as one of the nation’s most successful collegiate softball coaches and helped to put UMASS softball on the map. In the 2013 season, her 1,185 wins ranked seventh all-time among active Division I coaches. She won 23 conference titles and led UMass to three trips to the Women’s College World Series. In 2004, Sortino was inducted into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The NFCA also names UMASS Softball the 34th best softball program all-time.

We were all influenced by Coach. She inspired us to dream bigger, to fight harder, to invest more and to love the game.
We all “grew up” at Coach’s summer schools.
