When/where is check-in?
Daily check-in
will begin at 8:45am to 9:00am and pick-up promptly at 3:00pm.
DUE TO LIABILITY, CHECK-IN PRIOR TO 8:45AM AND PICK-UP AFTER
3:00PM IS NOT PERMITTED.
What should I bring to softball school?
Participants
should bring the following: cleats, athletic footwear (i.e.
tennis shoes, basketball shoes or cross-trainers etc.), a
softball glove, appropriate clothing for weather conditions, if
available, batting gloves, kneepads and a softball bat, some
spending money for lunch (or pack a lunch), sunblock and a hat
or visor.
What equipment should I bring to softball school?
All participants
must bring their own bat and glove. You may bring batting
gloves and bat bag, but they are not required.
Catchers must bring their own
catching equipment (leg guards, chest protector, and mask.)
Can I drive to the softball school?
While we do not
encourage participants driving on their own, participants are
permitted to drive to the softball school.
Is there a break for lunch?
Absolutely. On
lunch break, many participating hosts will open a concession
stand where players may buy their lunches. Please check the
website to determine if this is an option. Players may also
pack a lunch.
What is the method of payment?
All registrations
must be paid in full to be accepted into camp. Credit card
payment will be accepted online at www.planetfastpitch.com.
What other costs are there?
If the player
chooses to purchase lunch, snacks or beverages from the
concession stand, she will need spending money.
What is the refund policy?
The initial camp
deposit of $50.00 is non-refundable.
Do I need a physical?
All participants
must have a physical prior to the start of the school. If
participants have had a recent physical, a copy of that signed
report must be attached to the Health Form. “Recent” is
defined as within one year prior to the start of the school.
Your medical provider should be made aware of the impending
strenuous physical activity upcoming in this program.
When is the Health Form & Liability Waiver due?
Each participant
must have the Health Form and Liability Waiver completed and on
file with all appropriate signatures to complete registration in
the softball school. Please have your medical provider complete
the form. All participants must have a signed completed Health
Form prior to any participation in school activity. Health
Forms & Waivers must be mailed in directly to Planet
Fastpitch 135 Ironstone Street, Uxbridge, MA 01569
Do I need Health Insurance?
ALL PARTICIPANTS
ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE for their participation in
the school. If health insurance is not available please phone
the office immediately upon receipt of enrollment confirmation.
How can I reach my daughter in case of an emergency?
Parents may call
Kate Roberts on the school’s emergency phone at (401) 378-2516,
for emergency contact. These messages will be checked after
each session. Campers are permitted to have cell phones at
camp. We request that they are turned off during the training
sessions.
What is the medical coverage at camp?
A First Aid/CPR
certified staff person will be present during the entire camp.
In the event of an emergency, the staff will call 911 services
and the parent.
What kind of shape should I be in?
There will be no
physical testing at the school, but the program is rigorous and
will required 5-6 hours on the playing field per day. To get
the most out of the program, you should be in excellent physical
condition. Be in shape to participate in all aspects of the
program
Are there conduct expectations?
As the school’s
director, I do expect all participants to conduct themselves
properly at all times. Poor deportment hinders the learning
process for everyone. All participants are enrolled to learn
and have fun. Those who do not comply with the rules that will
be announced on the first morning of school will be dismissed
and sent home immediately. Participants will be financially
responsible for any damages that may occur.
Are there attendance requirements?
All participants
are required to attend every session; to be on time, and ready
to participate is all drills, games, and other activities.
Participants may not leave the designated field or gym areas
without the director’s knowledge and parental consent
When should I be picked up?
All participants
should be picked up by no later than 3:00pm.
