The Advanced Throwing and Arm Care Throwrz Program is a dynamic 5-week program led by Veteran Instructor, Elena Bowman.

In constant collaboration with Austin Wasserman MS/CSCS, PFP has integrated his proven overhand throwing principles to most safely and effectively increase velocity and distance in your throw. The program is designed to train clean throwing patterns with an emphasis on arm care by strengthening movements working from the ground up. Student progress will be tracked through video analysis and speed assessments to see tangible improvement in throwing patterns and velocity.

Improve a key component of your game while learning the principles of protecting your arm in this unique throwing program.

INJURY FACT:

Numerous studies done by Dr. James Andrews, an overhand throwing specialist, show that improper throwing patterns and kinematics lead to both elbow and shoulder injury * Fleisig, Glenn S., et al.

PROGRAM FACT:

In an ongoing collaboration with Luke S. Oh, MD and Donna Moxley Scarborough, MS, PT of MGH Sports Medicine Center; Kaila Holtz, MD, MSc; Austin Wasserman, MS, CSCS;  Denise Davis BS, MBA and the entire PFP Staff, this program will integrate the teaching of proper throwing patterns with exercises and protocols proven to reduce the chance of injury while strengthening the body for optimal throwing performance. During this 10-week program, you will learn:

- Proper throwing patterns, anatomy and the science behind correct mechanics.

- How to create resistance in your throw by using the kinetic chain.

- How to properly warm up your arm using band protocols and dynamic warm-ups with a purpose.

- How to condition your arm including how to do long toss correctly and consistently.  Just like the rest of your body, your arm needs to be well conditioned to reduce injury!

- How to properly cool down your arm by utilizing soft tissue work and proper stretching.
